Julia Bouwsma is the author of Work by Bloodlight (Cider Press Review, 2017), chosen by Linda Pastan as the winner of the 2015 Cider Press Review Book Award. Bouwsma lives off-the-grid in the mountains of western Maine, where she is a poet, freelance editor, critic, small-town librarian, and farmer. Her poems and book reviews appear in Bellingham Review, Colorado Review, Muzzle, Salamander, RHINO, River Styx, and other journals, and she is the recipient of residencies from the Virginia Center for Creative Arts and the Vermont Studio Center. She earned her BA from Swarthmore College and her MFA from Goddard College. A former Managing Editor for Alice James Books, Bouwsma currently serves as Book Review Editor for Connotation Press: An Online Artifact and as Library Director for Webster Library in Kingfield, Maine.
